CLUB: ABERDEEN ROCK CHOIR

Learn how to sing pop, rock and Motown songs in a three-part harmony, as well as being part of a chart-topping group with Chris Mutch’s Aberdeen Rock Choir. They band has performed at both Comic and Sports Relief, as well as supporting national charities like Missing People.

EVENT: ILLUMINATIONS - SCOTTISH CLOSING CEREMONY OF THE INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF LIGHTS

This outdoor lightshow will mark the end of the year-long International Year of Lights at Heriot-Watt University’s Riccarton campus. This will include a lecture by Professor Jim Al-Khalili, the BBC science communicator and broadcaster, titled A Brief History of Lights: What the Medieval World Knew About Optics.

COMEDY: BRUCE’S BIG SACK

A festive comedy night from Bruce Devlin, with support from Marian Pashley and Liam Withnail, to help you get in the festive spirit. Drink some warm mulled wine, munch on mince pies and take part in a secret Santa. A raffle is being held in aid of Waverley Care.

MUSIC: COURTNEY BARNETT

As part of her worldwide tour, Courtney Barnett is bringing her worn-in, ‘90s-evoking indie-rock sketches from Down Under to Glasgow. Her debut album, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, was released earlier this year to critical acclaim – and her live shows have been getting plenty of praise, too.

THEATRE: PETER PAN

This year’s panto at Carnegie Hall is about the boy who wouldn’t grow up. Join Peter, Wendy and Tinkerbell in a musical night of fantasy this festive season.
