Scottish piper will play at James Bond premiere
John Mitchell, 22, a serving soldier with the Scots Guards, had the finger stitched back, but has only partial use of it.
He will stand on the red carpet in New York to pipe celebrities, including Bond himself, Daniel Craig, into the first showing of Spectre.

He will attend the event early next month and has also been invited to the black tie after-party.
His mother, Lara Mitchell, believed her son was joking when he called to tell her about his 007 call-up.
She said: “I couldn’t believe it but it’s absolutely true. It is so exciting and I am so proud of John.”
Mr Mitchell also played the bagpipes at the medal ceremonies at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
