A victory for Rangers at home to the Diamonds will secure the championship with still eight league matches remaining in the campaign.

The destination of the title has been in little doubt for almost the entire season and even a draw would ensure second-placed Dunfermline, whose goal difference is currently 53 worse off and who head for Govan on Saturday, could not beat Ally McCoist’s side’s points total. However, even if they do get over the line tonight, Rangers’ title party will be put on ice until later in the season, likely to be the 26 April home clash with Stranraer, as they strive for success in the Scottish Cup and Ramsdens Cup.
