Michael Mols’ scouting offer to Rangers

FORMER Rangers player Michael Mols has offered a solution to his old club’s lack of a scouting network, citing that ex players would be a great way for the club to source new players.

Michael Mols, who was in attendance for Rangers 2-1 win over Arbroath at Gayfield, says that the club should use the vast array of ex-Rangers players to create a new global scouting network, insisting that not only could it be done on the cheap to save the club money but that it would also help to build for the future by securing internationally sourced talent recommended by the keen eyes of those who know what it means to play for the Ibrox club.

Mols himself mentions several ex-players including Claudio Reyna in the US, Arthur Numan, Bert Konterman, and Ronald De Boer in the Netherlands and Lorenzo Amoruso in Italy. He says he believes that most, if not all of these players would love to get involved stating “once a Ranger, always a Ranger.”

The amount of former players internationally is an intriguing prospect, with Rangers having sourced players from all over the world in previous transfer dealings.

With that in mind, Rangers manger Ally McCoist, who has previously stated that the club’s lack of a scouting network was “unacceptable”, might be keen to take up the former player’s offer.

The manager though will have to wait for the outcome of chief executive Graham Wallace’s 120 day review into the club, which will then be used to map out the future financial route the club will take.
