Lacny is man on a mission at Tannadice

MILOS Lacny felt sure he would win a deal with Celtic in the summer – so now plans to show Parkhead manager Neil Lennon what he’s missing.

The Slovakian striker was on trial with Celtic back in July but was not offered a contract. Lacny joined Dundee United on a 12-month loan deal from Sparta Prague on Monday and will go straight into the squad to face Rangers this weekend if the international paperwork is completed in time.

And Lacny, who impressed manager Peter Houston in a recent trial match, insists there would be no better way to show the Celts what they passed up by helping United to a win at Ibrox. He said: “When I was on trial with Celtic I felt 100 per cent that I would get a contract. It was enjoyable, I thought I did well but at the end of the day things did not happen.

“I know they have good strikers at Celtic but I would have felt confident competing with them. But it didn’t happen so I have moved on now and am glad to be with Dundee United.

“Hopefully I can use my time here to show Celtic they missed out by not signing me. And it would be good to get a goal against Rangers on Sunday to do that.”
