A mountain walker has died after falling in the Highlands.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Carn Mor Dearg, near Fort William in Lochaber, at 12.35pm on Monday.

Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team and the coastguard helicopter attended, but the 58-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland said his relatives have been told.

A spokesman said: “A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
