Ladbrokes on Anniesland Road was targeted just before 10pm on Saturday by a man who made off with a three-figure sum.

Police Scotland said two women working in the shop, aged 22 and 38, were left “terrified” by the robbery.

The suspect is described as around 5ft 11, of slim build and had sallow skin. He was wearing a white zipped hooded top, dark jeans and white trainers.

He had his hood up and covering his face, and was carrying a black rucksack and a black bin bag wrapped around what is believed to be an item of sports equipment.

Detective Sergeant Robert Bowie said: “This robbery was terrifying for the two women who were working in the shop at the time. It is vital that we find the man responsible.

“Our officers are currently checking CCTV and making door-to-door inquiries, however we are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward and contact us.

“The man would have looked out of place prior to going into Ladbrokes, carrying a black bin bag and a rucksack. Do you remember seeing anyone in the area matching his description?”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 4636 of Saturday August 4, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
