Motorcyclists hurt in head-on Fauldhouse crash

TWO motorcyclists are being treated in hospital after a head-on crash.

The bikes collided in Harthill Road, Fauldhouse, West Lothian, at around 7.45pm.

Emergency services were called to the scene and fire crews had to carry out a line rescue to reach one of the bikers from an embankment at the side of the road.

The casualties, both male, were treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

One of the men was taken to Wishaw General by ambulance while the other was airlifted to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Meanwhile, two men were taken to hospital after the car they were travelling in crashed into a cottage off a rural road in the Borders.

A BMW and a Mini were involved in the crash on the A1107 near Coldingham at 7.15pm.

Firefighters had to cut the roof off the BMW to free a male passenger who was then airlifted to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious leg, chest and head injuries.

The male driver of the BMW was taken to Borders General for treatment while the driver of the Mini was checked over by paramedics at the scene of the crash.
