Those on the west coast are ably served by the Isle of Eriska Spa and Hotel, which overlooks the spectacular Morvern Mountains and Loch Linnhe. Recently relaunched with no less than five treatment rooms available, patrons can benefit from Scottish skincare brand ishga which uses seaweed harvested from the waters of the Hebrides. A Rasul Mud Room is one of the highlights, while spa day packages and specialised oil therapies are also offered. A 17-metre swimming pool underscores the luxurious remoteness of this wonderful spa.


Boasting what is arguably the largest spa on this list is Blythswood Square in Glasgow, which features nine treatment rooms and spans a total of 10,000 square feet. In addition, a thermal suite, two relaxation pools and a lounge are all on offer for those who book a stay or treatment there. Those who visit regularly can also take out a spa membership, which offers discounted rates for regular users. Blythwood’s use of Ila spa products have also earned it a reputation for using the best premium organic treatments.

Hidden away from the noise and stress of city life is Aviemore’s Cairngorm Beauty Therapy and Spa. As a specially-dedicated facility with no hotel attached, users benefit from a larger array of services at all price points. Highlights include the Indian Head Massage and the Cairngorm Ultimate Bliss package, which includes dips in the hot tub and sauna as well as a manicure, pedicure and full body massage amongst other benefits.


Of Edinburgh’s numerous spas, Balance Spa of the Roxburghe Hotel in Rose Street’s Roxburghe Hotel offers a particularly fine dose of luxury and relaxation. Amongst their full repertoire of services are mud facials, nail filing and treatment. Special packages offering glasses of champagne and strawberries on arrival can be booked, as well as afternoon team in the hotel’s comfortable surroundings.
