

The Daily Record said that Nerlinger, who had been offered the post and had held talks with Ibrox chief executive Graham Wallace, was concerned about the ongoing financial crisis at the club and had decided to decline the offer.
Nerlinger played for the club for three years after arriving during the tenure of Dick Advocaat before leaving to join Kaiserslautern.
