Police are investigating after a man’s body was recovered from a river in Aberdeenshire.
Emergency services were called to the River Esk in the Marykirk area about 2:15pm today following a report of concern for a man in the water.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death is being treated as unexplained and police are investigating.
Police said there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal, as is the case with all sudden deaths.
