Bus and lorry crash on A90 in Aberdeenshire

A bus and lorry crashed on a main commuter route into Aberdeen this morning with casualties including an eight-year-old boy.

He was one of four people taken to hospital following the collision at the Newburgh turnoff on the A90 Aberdeen to Ellon road, shortly before 8am.

Others dispatched to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary included a man in his 80s, a man in his 60s and a woman in her 20s.

A spokesman for Scottish Ambulance Service said three ambulances and a special response team attended the scene.

He added: “All casualties are stable and their injuries are not throught to be serious.”

A fifth casualty is thought to have been treated at the scene.

The road reopened to traffic around 9.30am.
