This is the shocking moment a teen was caught hitching a ride down a busy high street — by hanging on to the back of a bus.
The clip was captured by commuter, Patrick O’Hanlon, who was a passenger in the car behind the bus in Dublin.
His video shows the boy, who he said looked “no older than 16”, clinging on to the bus as it moved through traffic at around 10pm.
Mr O’Hanlon, 21, said the youth held on for “at least half a mile” before jumping off when the bus came to a stop.
He said: “My first thought was what if he fell off? I told my girlfriend not to drive too closely because we could have run over him.
“He was right next to the engine. He could have got burned or could have fallen.
“He was on the back for about half a mile and at least a minute.”
Mr O’Hanlon says he decided to take out his phone and start recording out of disbelief at what he was seeing, in O’Connell Street, on Monday.
He said: “I just thought it was unbelievable. It was so irresponsible and could have ended so badly.
“Everyone was looking at him thinking ‘what the hell is he doing’?”
