Watch: the moment a teenage driver crashes after 80mph police chase
Callum Hill avoided jail but was banned from driving for 12 months

A teenage driver who was caught on police dashcam driving at 80mph in a 30mph zone before smashing into a parked car has been spared jail.

Callum Hill, 18, was filmed careering over speed bumps, driving on the wrong side of the road and narrowly colliding with oncoming cars as he fled police.

At one bizarre point during the chase, Hill even indicated left as a police car pursued him for four miles between Brownsover and Hillmorton, in Rugby, Warwickshire.

Callum Hill drove at speeds of up to 80 miles per hour through a residential area

The chase finally came to an end when Hill lost control on a narrow road and ploughed into a parked car.

Hill, of Rugby, admitted dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs when he appeared at Warwick Crown Court last week.

He was sentenced to nine months in prison, suspended for 18 months and ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work and pay £200 to the owner of the car he crashed into.

He was also banned from driving for 12 months.
