Storm Dennis is set to bring wet and windy weather to the UK this weekend, with a multitude of Met Office weather warnings for heavy rain and strong winds in place across the country.

Friday 14 February

Friday 14 February will see a band of rain in the far northwest pushing east and southeast, with blustery showers following for the northwest.

It will stay dry in the southeast until evening, but will become windier.

Friday evening will see rain in the south and far west moving over the rest of the UK, with Storm Dennis bringing a very wet and windy day across the country.

A Met Office yellow warning for rain is currently in place from 9am until 5pm on Friday 14 February, covering SW Scotland, Lothian Borders and Strathclyde.

Saturday 15 February

Saturday 15 February will see “spells of very wet and windy weather affecting all parts, especially over the weekend in association with storm Dennis,” according to the Met Office.

Numerous amber and yellow Met office weather warnings are currently in place for Saturday.

A yellow Met Office warning for rain and wind is in place from 9am to 6pm covering Central, Tayside & Fife, SW Scotland, Lothian Borders, and Strathclyde.

A yellow rain warning is in place from 12pm until 9pm, covering London & South East England, North East England, North West England, South West England, Wales, West Midlands, and Yorkshire & Humber.

A yellow warning for wind is also in place from 10am on Saturday 15 February until 23.59pm on Sunday 16 February, covering East Midlands, East of England, London & South East England, North East England, North West England, South West England, Wales, West Midlands, and Yorkshire & Humber.

Amber warnings for rain are also in place from 3pm on Saturday until 3pm on Sunday, covering North West England, South West England, Wales, Yorkshire & Humber.

Sunday 16 Feb February

The Met Office says that Dennis will bring “further wet and windy weather on Sunday. Turning colder next week with sunny spells and blustery showers, heaviest and most frequent in the north and west.”

A Met Office yellow weather warning for wind is in place from 12pm on Sunday 16 February until 12pm on Monday 17 February, covering Central, Tayside & Fife, Grampian, Highlands & Eilean Siar, North East England, North West England, Northern Ireland, SW Scotland, Lothian Borders, and Strathclyde.

An amber weather warning is also in place from 12.15am on until 6pm on Sunday, covering London & South East England.
