Police launch witness appeal following attempted murder of 27-year-old Glasgow man

Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses of an attempted murder which took place in Glasgow on Monday evening.

The incident happened at around 9.55pm in the Milton area of Glasgow on Monday, March, 29.

A 27-year-old man was walking on the footpath next to Skerray Street when a dark coloured car, similar to a Volkswagen Golf, and a dark coloured saloon car pulled up beside him.

Three men got out of the cars and attacked the victim using weapons, before returning in their vehicles and fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

The incident took place at around 9.55pm on the footpath next to Skerry Street in Glasgow.

The victim of the attack was assisted by other people in the area who called the emergency services.

Police are treating the incident as attempted murder.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment, and staff have described his condition as serious but stable.

Police are now appealing for anyone who may have seen anything in the area to come forward and assist with their enquiries.

All of the suspects were white men and had their faces covered.

One of them was wearing a Khaki top, dark bottoms, black trainers and a bubble jacket with the hood up.

Another was in all black with his hood up.

The third suspect was in a black hooded top with a large white Nike logo on the chest and black bottoms.

Detective Inspector Graham McCreadie from Maryhill CID said: “This is believed to have been a targeted attack on the victim, who has been left seriously injured, and it is vital we trace the despicable individuals responsible.

“Extensive enquiries are ongoing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident, or noticed anything at all suspicious, to come forward.

“In particular, we would urge any motorists with dash-cams who were in the area at the time to please check their footage in case they have captured anything of significance, such as the vehicles involved."
