A post on Snapchat was circulated on Sunday after the Old Firm encounter at Celtic Park which showed an unknown individual using vile language to describe the Colombian as he netted in the 1-1 draw.

A police source told the Scottish Sun: "An investigation is underway after Police Scotland received a number of complaints regarding an offensive social media post. Our enquiries are ongoing."

This comes after Glen Kamara was involved in an incident during Thursday night’s defeat to Slavia Prague where opposing defender Ondrej Kudela was said to have called the midfielder a “f*****g monkey”, a claim the Slavia player denies.

Celtic and Rangers joined forces in standing against racism prior to kick-off yesterday, while Celtic skipper Scott Brown made a point of seeking out Kamara in the warm-up.

Morelos grabbed his first goal against Celtic as Steven Gerrard’s men remained undefeated in the Scottish Premiership this term.
