The 11 February episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK saw the queens split into two teams to take on RuRuVision, a campy parody of the already campy EuroVision Song Contest.

The episode was already notable for being the first one filmed after production resumed an enforced break due to the UK’s first Covid-19 lockdown, but something even more attention grabbing has come out of it.

Here is everything you need to know about the song that’s got everyone talking.

What is the song?

As part of the episode, the two teams were offered the chance to write and record their own version of ‘UK Hun?’

The winning’s team were the United Kingdolls – made up of Lawrence Chaney, A’Whora, Tayce, and Bimini Bon Boulash – and their effort has gone on to grip the nation with its insanely catchy chorus and brilliantly witty verses.

Seriously, one listen to the song and you'll be humming it throughout the day, with celebrities and Drag Race alumni flooding social media with stories of the intrusive nature of that earworm of a chorus.

Top 10 success awaits.

Will it chart?

It's highly likely the song will enter into the UK’s Official Singles Chart on Friday (19 February), with fans streaming and downloading the catchy song ever since the episode in an attempt to get it into the charts.

The track has already proven itself this week's highest new entry on The Official Big Top 40 reaching Number 4 on the chart show on 14 February.

It's currently at Number 25 on the latest Official Singles Chart update, and is expected to peak much higher.

The fact that a song centred around a phrase that can be used to describe raucous sexual activity (so say Urban Dictionary) is likely to rocket up the charts, is something that’s causing smiles across the face of many a Drag Race fan.

It's not the first time the Drag Race UK stars have appeared in the chart; in 2019 The Frock Destroyers reached Number 35 with their song ‘Break Up Bye Bye’.

What do the lyrics mean?

If someone had said to you a week ago, “bing bang bong, sing sang song, ding dang dong”, you'd probably come away concerned for their mental wellbeing.

But now, it’s become the rallying cry of the Drag Race fandom, a blinding light of hope in a dark world of coronavirus lockdowns, economic collapse and a harsh, grey winter.

The first verse of the song is delivered by Lawrence Chaney, the Glaswegian queen who described herself as a “plus size diva” and “Scottish drag royalty” ahead of the recent series.

She sings about dancing a highland jig while “snatching wigs” wherever she goes, “from Helensburgh to Edinburgh”.

A'Whora’s verse comes next, with lines bragging about how she’ll “send you tens through the door", and “you read books and I'm on the cover/superstar queen just like no other.”

Tayce is up next, with a verse that references the second episode of the season (‘Rats: the Rusical’) in which the queens performed live in a parody of Cats: “All you fruits should be scared of me/Like the one I sent home doing ‘Memory.’”

The final verse, delivered by the Drag Race canon's first non-binary performer in Bimini Bon Boulash, is perhaps the best of the lot, instructing listeners to "embrace the femme” and to “love yourself” whether “you're he, she, or them”.

The full lyrics of the song are as follows:

[Chorus]

Bing, bang, bong

Sing, sang, song

Ding, dang, dong

UK, hun?

[Verse 1: Lawrence Chaney]

Dancing to a highland jig

Lawrence Chaney's up in this gig

From Helensburgh to Edinburgh

Everywhere I go I'm snatching wigs

I made my name in Glasgow city

Can't sing or dance, but I'm so witty

Me and my dolls are on a mission

Going to take this crown for RuRuvision

[Verse 2: A'Whora]

I'm the fashion queen, A'Whora

I'll send you tens through the door-a

When he's asking for-a more-a

Tell him this hoe ain't a store

You read books and I'm on the cover

Superstar queen just like no other

Turning out looks, fashionista lover

Just like Ru, you can call me Mother

[Pre-Chorus]

It's something you say

And it's going around

And around and around and around, yeah

But what does it do?

I don't have a clue

Sing it loud, sing it loud, sing it loud, yeah

[Chorus]

[Verse 3: Tayce]

Who me, like this in front of all these people?

Strut so bad it must be illegal (Hey)

T-A-Y-C-E (What?)

Inches to the floor, I ain't talking 'bout my weave (Thank God!)

Rata-tat-rat, I'ma clap back

You know I need a badge, so play that track (Ow!)

All you fruits should be scared of me

Like the one I sent home doing "Memory"

[Pre-Chorus]

[Chorus]

[Verse 4: Bimini Bon-Boulash]

Release the beast, Bimini!

Get a pillow for these girls 'cause they sleep on me

Gender-bender, cis-tem offender

I like it rough but my lentils tender

Don't be scared to embrace the femme

Whether you're he, she, or them

Limp wrist, hair flick, crème de la crème

Love yourself, say that again

[Bridge]

Clap for the bing, bang, bong

Clap for the sing, sang, song

Clap for the ding, dang dong

Clap for the UK, hun! (Woo!)

[Chorus]
