Edinburgh Science Festival: Olly at cutting edge of recycling

BUDDING scientist Olly Pope yesterday helped set up a Polyfloss factory – which recycles plastic objects using the same technique used to make candy floss.

Olly helped make four funky rulers from a range of unwanted melted down objects – including pens and drinks bottles. The plastic processing plant is one the highlights at this year’s International Science Festival, which opens tomorrow at Edinburgh’s City Art Centre. The festival is the world’s first of its type and runs for two weeks.
