Swiss court finds healer guilty of spreading HIV

A SELF-STYLED healer who infected 16 people with HIV has been jailed for 12 years and six months by a Swiss court.

The 54-year-old music teacher and acupuncturist was found guilty by a court in Berne of causing bodily harm and spreading the virus which causes AIDS.

“The accused is responsible for infecting 16 people,” said court president Urs Herren. He added that the motive could have been to seek attention, revenge, or so the man could prove his powers.

Police investigated after one victim told medics he suspected he had been stabbed with a needle during acupuncture sessions held by his music teacher.
