Danish appeal

I CAN quite see the appeal of Denmark to the SNP and many others (your report, 15 March). Am I not right in thinking though that it is a country of small businesses? Do they not account for 90 per cent of the non-state economy? What is the equivalent for Scotland?

The tradition in the lowlands is large employers, which is good sometimes but regularly disastrous. This is often the legacy of the industrial revolution. We have been trying to boost small businesses for decades. Independence is a glib answer. Much more thought is required. How do we turn the dispossessed into capitalists ?
