Insights, which was founded in 1993 and has worked with AstraZeneca, Nationwide Building Society and Xerox, said the move was in response to increased demand for its products and services from existing and potential clients in the region.
The firm employs more than 400 around the world, including 160 in the UK – of whom 130 are based in Dundee. It generated group revenues of £28 million last year and is seeking to double that figure by 2018.
Its Singapore operation is expected to be up and running in July and will be led by Mark Leisegang, who has been appointed general manager for Asia.
Chief operating officer Fiona Logan said the new office will act as a springboard into other markets such as China, Japan, India and Australia, where the company currently operates through a network of distributors.
She added: “We’re thrilled at the opportunity to bring the Insights magic to this exciting part of the world.
“The time has come for us to invest in infrastructure and grow our business further in Asia as we look to double the size of the overall Insights business by 2018.”
Chief executive Andy Lothian said: “We’ve been supporting our global clients in Asia for some time without a direct presence. Establishing our office in Singapore under Mark’s experienced leadership gives us the foundation for our future expansion in the region.”
