Zoo's gentoo clan picks up 59 chicks

EDINBURGH Zoo is celebrating a successful breeding season for its gentoo penguins following the arrival of 59 chicks.

The chicks range in age from three days to four weeks. This year, two paler-coloured chicks have hatched. They have a condition called leucism which reduces pigmentation and are related to the zoo's resident leucistic penguin, Snowflake.
