Zoo seeks fundraisers with bottle

EDINBURGH Zoo has appealed for more people to sign up for its fundraising glasswalk challenge.

The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS), the charity that owns Edinburgh Zoo and the Highland Wildlife Park, is looking for volunteers to take part in the charity challenge on Friday, 30 July.

Participants will be required to walk barefoot across 20ft of broken glass and will help raise vital funds to support animal conservation and research.

This is the third year RZSS has run this kind of event; last year a firewalk was held and 38 participants raised more than 8,000. Full training is given and previous glasswalk participants found the experience "empowering", "inspirational" and said it felt like "walking on cornflakes".

Potential participants – who must raise a minimum 150 in sponsorship – need to register for the event by 9 July.
