Zoo charity scoops award

THE charity which owns Edinburgh Zoo has landed a prestigious award for its conservation breeding of Polynesian tree snails.

The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) was honoured at the prestigious 2012 British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA) Awards.

Darren McGarry, head of animals at Edinburgh Zoo, said: “As a conservation charity, this is at the very core of what we stand for.”
