Youth charged after woman stabbed in Wester Hailes

The teenage boy from Edinburgh was detained yesterday following an attack on a 33-year-old woman in Hailes Quarry Park on Monday morning

It is alleged the man approached the victim before chasing after her and stabbing her in the shoulder.

The arrest followed an appeal for information to find the suspect. Door-to-door inquiries had been carried out by officers to track and provide reassurance to members of the public.

He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court tomorrow.
