Young people give rail views

YOUNG people have been giving their views on the importance of rail travel across the Lothians.

The poll, by the Scottish Youth Parliament, follows a general consultation in which members highlighted it as an issue of particular relevance.

A spokesman for the organisation – which was famously led by Big Brother winner John Loughton – said: “For young people, travelling by train can be very important – in many cases it’s the only way to be able to get to where you want to go.

“Better and cheaper public transport together with making sure transport is available often ranks as some of the biggest priorities for young people.”
