Yobs smash window on moving train

POLICE have appealed for commuters to help them catch youths who threw stones and smashed the window of a moving train.

British Transport Police said the driver of the 6.27pm North Berwick to Waverley service on April 30 saw the youths throwing stones as the train left Wallyford at around 6.55pm.

Nobody was injured and the train was able to complete the journey, but officers asked passengers on the train to contact them if they witnessed the stones being thrown.

Constable Ryan Tierney said: “Throwing any object at trains is a really stupid thing to do and I am appealing for anyone who has information regarding those involved to come forward.”
