Writer makes UK shortlist

A TALENTED wordsmith has been shortlisted in a children’s storywriting competition – beating hundreds of entries from across the UK.

Philippa Okeke, 32, a teacher at Lorne Primary School in Leith, is one of ten regional finalists with a chance of winning a £1000 top prize in the annual search by Munch Bunch yoghurts for a budding children’s author.

She said: “I am absolutely delighted my story has been picked – especially as it is the only one from the whole of Scotland – that’s amazing.”

Her story Munch the Crazy Cow can be read at www.munchtime.co.uk

Voting concludes on July 22.
