Despite fellow gamers’ attempts to help Mr Wu, he died after slumping in his chair. Paramedics removed his body after failing to resuscitate him. One witness said there was blood on Mr Wu’s handkerchief.

A local police officer said: “An autopsy will determine the cause of death but there seems little doubt his playing on the computer for 19 hours instead of resting contributed to his death.”
