The 19-year-old managed to break free before the intruder was restrained by a team of security guards who stormed the stage.

He took a three minute break following the incident before returning to the stage.

Bieber took to Twitter to retweet descriptions of the “mayhem”.

He later tweeted: “Dubai. Nothing stops the show. 2 more to go.”

The singer is in the middle of a world tour called Believe which began last September and includes about 100 dates but has recently courted controversy. At the weekend he prompted an angry reaction from parents when he was nearly two hours late on stage.

He also made headlines around the globe following a visit to the Anne Frank museum in Amsterdam.

In the guestbook he wrote: “Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber.”

The museum defended the star but added his comment “wasn’t very sensible”.
