Unqualified acupuncturist ‘infected 16 with HIV’

A SELF-STYLED healer has been charged with deliberately infecting 16 people with the virus which causes Aids.

The man was indicted in the Bern-Mitelland regional court in Switzerland of intentionally spreading human disease and causing serious bodily harm over a decade. The accused ran a music school and practised as an acupuncturist. He is alleged to have used acupuncture between 2001-5 to prick and infect some of his victims with HIV.

He faces a jail sentence of between five and ten years for each charge.
