Thousands of members of two of Morocco’s largest unions have marched through the capital to protest the Islamist-led government’s planned economic reforms and failure to stem unemployment and inflation.

Chanting, the “people want the fall of the government” and calling for the departure of prime minister Abdelilah Benkirane, union members dressed in bright yellow baseball caps and smocks marched through Rabat.
