Two bosses held over factory fire

Bangladesh police have detained the chairman and managing director of a clothing factory after a fire killed seven workers, following claims the plant employed under-age workers and had no license to run.

The Smart Exports Garment fire in the capital Dhaka on Saturday came just two months after the country’s worst factory blaze – in which at least 112 died – turned the spotlight on the conditions in the sector.
