Suu Kyi aiming to represent the poor

Burmese pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi has said she intends to run in upcoming by-elections in a poor district in southern Rangoon.

National League for Democracy spokesman Nyan Win said yesterday Ms Suu Kyi had wanted to run in either a rural constituency or one where a majority of people live in poverty.
