Somalia car bomb claims eight lives

A CAR bomb killed eight people and injured two MPs in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu yesterday, in an attack claimed by a spokesman for Somalia’s Islamist insurgency.

A car bomb parked near a hotel exploded, police said. Eight people died and 11 were seriously injured. The militant group al-Shabab claimed the attack, saying the target was a restaurant frequented by MPs and intelligence personnel.
