‘Red in the bed’ sex tape sacking

China has sacked a district Communist Party official after images of him having sex with his mistress were posted on ­microblog websites.

Screenshots from the sex video first appeared on the Twitter-like Weibo site on Tuesday.

Lei Zhengfu, a district party chief in the south-west city of Chongqing, was fired after an investigation by the party discipline committee confirmed the video feature him.

The party has stepped up its rhetoric against corruption, seeking to counter popular anger over regular reports of dishonesty and debauchery among officials.
