Prison guards face escape inquiry

A COURT in Serbia has opened an investigation against three guards suspected of helping two inmates escape from a high-security prison. One of the prisoners had been convicted of plotting to kill the prime minister.

The guards face up to eight years in jail if convicted for Tuesday’s attempted escape.
