Piracy attacks off Somalia fall sharply

Sea piracy worldwide dropped by 28 per cent in the first quarter of the year as attacks fell sharply in Somalia’s waters thanks to international naval patrols, the International Maritime Bureau has said.

Although attacks intensified in Nigeria and Indonesia, worldwide the number from January to March fell to 102 from 142 cases in in 2011.
