Nicole Scherzinger splits up with Lewis Hamilton

Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger has split up with her Formula 1 star boyfriend Lewis Hamilton, her publicist confirmed today.

The pair, who got together around five years ago, have split several time before.

A spokeswoman for Scherzinger, who is filming the latest series of The X Factor, confirmed the split but would not comment further.

The news caps a bad couple of days for Mercedes driver Hamilton after a blown tyre ruined his chances of winning the British Grand Prix at Silverstone yesterday.

The driver, who was in the lead when the blowout happened, dropped back to last place but managed to come back and ended the race in fourth.
