Newlywed husband killed by shark on honeymoon
A man has been killed by a shark just yards from his newlywed wife as she sunbathed on the beach.
The French couple were honeymooning on the island of Reunion in the Indian ocean, and the man was using a hired bodyboard when the shark reportedly charged at him twice.
The 36-year-old victim lost a great deal of blood after being bitten on the hand, arm, and thigh. Lifeguards were unable to revive him after he went into cardiac and respiratory arrest.
The widow is being treated for shock while the beach has been closed to swimmers as the hunt for the shark continues.
