Man dies after rock show stage collapse

A DRUM technician who was killed when a stage collapsed ahead of a Radiohead concert in Toronto in Canada has been named as Scott Johnson, sources said yesterday.

Mr Johnson, 33, from Doncaster in Yorkshire, died when the top portion of the stage fell in on him as he was setting up for the show.

Three other people were also injured, paramedics said.

The Oxfordshire band had been due to play to a sold-out crowd at Downsview Park in Toronto but cancelled the show after the accident.

Ian West, Mr Johnson’s drum teacher in Doncaster, said his former pupil toured the world with famous bands.
