Kylie takes the wheel: Pop princess at Cannes

POP icon Kylie Minogue has claimed she “stripped herself of being Kylie” for her role in a new sci-fi fantasy, as it was unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival.

The Australian stars in French director Leos Carax’s surreal offering Holy Motors.

The former Neighbours star plays two cameo roles in the film, about a man who travels between multiple parallel lives. It is one of the favourites for the prestigious Palme d’Or prize at Cannes,

Ms Minogue said: “It felt good to be back on set. I took it very seriously.

”I kind of stripped myself of being Kylie and wanted to go back to being as basic as possible and pretty much be a blank canvas.”
