Joe Biden tells supporters 'we are on track to win this election' as race for White House is on a knife edge

Democrat candidate Joe Biden told supporters 'we are on track to win this election' as the race for White House rested on a knife edge this morning.

With the candidates virtually neck and neck Joe Biden addressed a crowd in his native Delaware.

He said: “Good evening, your patience is commendable.

“We knew this was going to go on but who knew it was going to go into maybe tomorrow morning, maybe even longer.

“But look, we feel good about where we are. We really do. I am here to tell you tonight we believe we’re on track to win this election.”

He added: “It's not my place or Donald Trump's place to declare the winner of this election. It's the voters' place.”

After addressing his supporters, Joe Biden tweeted: “Keep the faith, guys. We’re gonna win this.”

Meanwhile rival Dinald Trump was also set to make an address to supporters but accused his opponent of trying to ‘steal’ the election.
