Joe Biden joins Instagram, posts selfie with Obama

VICE President of the United States Joe Biden has christened his new Instagram account with the now customary selfie, managing to get President Barack Obama to pose for the photo.

The 71-year-old joined the photo-sharing app on Wednesday, and has already posted four images to his 44,939 followers.

Controlled by VP Biden’s office, any photos shared by the former Delaware senator are signed ‘-VP’ - and the first image posted by the Vice President was a ‘selfie’ with President Obama.

Taken in the back of a car, VP Biden and President Obama are pictured smiling at the camera, with the caption posted by Biden reading: ‘Found a friend to join my first selfie on Instagram. Thanks for following and stay tuned. –VP’.

The picture has so far garnered over 22,000 likes on Instagram and has attracted a number of comments from Biden’s followers.

User ‘mellamocici’ wrote: “Good to see you guys smile even with all the complicated stuff you have to deal with’ while mcanojr14 added: “Hey Mr. VP. It’s nice to see even the most powerful men having some fun.”
