Japanese reactors given all–clear

Two of Japan’s nuclear reactors have been declared safe and are to be restarted to combat looming power shortages, the government has announced.

They are the first to be declared safe since the crisis at Fukushima following last year’s earthquake and devastating tsunami. Regional authorities still need to approve the move.
