Italy optimistic on labour reforms

Italy’s government says it expects quick parliamentary approval of its key labour market reforms after the plan was backed by parties across the political spectrum.

Reforms include making it easier to fire workers and schemes to bring more young people into the workforce.

Premier Mario Monti’s office said political leaders have committed to a “rapid passage” of the reforms.
