Fresh format for reality TV

Kyrgyzstan began testing hopeful members of its new anti-corruption agency on live television yesterday in an effort to prove transparency in the graft-riddled nation.

Images broadcast live from the testing centre showed hopeful applicants sitting at computers while an off-screen presenter commented on the proceedings.

The prime minister’s office released a statement upon completion of the first session of 100-minute-long tests, naming the highest and lowest scorers.

The tests will initially whittle the 1,400 applicants aspiring to join the state service for combating economic crimes to 400.
