First space tweet: 'Hello Twitterverse!'

FROM outer space to cyberspace – the international space station is now online.

Space station resident Timothy Creamer posted the first live tweet truly from space yesterday. "Hello Twitterverse!" he wrote.

Previously, astronauts had to send Twitter updates by e-mail to Mission Control in Houston. The crew can now use an on-board laptop to browse the web.
