Dutch overturn arms acquittal

THE Dutch Supreme Court yesterday overturned the acquittal of a businessman accused of supplying arms to former Liberian strongman Charles Taylor and ordered a new hearing in the case.

Guus Kouwenhoven was originally sentenced to eight years' jail in 2006, but acquitted on appeal.
